I have been stitching (and designing) a LOT lately. Shown above are some of my recent finishes. My stitchy bug is very strong right now. Unfortunately, my finishing bug is non existent. Heck, I can't even be inspired to iron the projects I have finished lately. I need to take some time off from stitching to make some pillows and ornaments. Hopefully I will be inspired to do this soon. I am thinking a trip to the fabric store to choose fabric for the pillows might help.
Info about the finished pieces (L-R):
Ink Circles Fleur d'Orleans
I stitched this with the suggested floss choices from Carrie's Creations and it was a heavenly stitch! I love working with silk flosses.
Janie Hubble motif
The little bird design was provided by Janie Hubble for a SAL (stitch along) in the Samplerlife group on Facebook. You can find more of her lovely designs in her Etsy shop.
Bird Mini Sampler
Two birdie designs in a row. The little sampler happens to be my design. I was inspired by motifs from vintage samplers. This was a fun little quick project stitched with DMC flosses on a small piece of white 18-count Aida.
This is another one of my designs. It was inspired by a Drunkard's Path quilt my Grandmother Stager made for me. My Grandmother didn't like the name Drunkard's Path - she called it Wanderer's Path. There have been a lot of names for this particular design - Fons and Porter has an article and free pattern for a multi-color Drunkard's Path quilt. This design will also be available in my Etsy shop (hopefully sometime this week). I stitched it with DMC color variations Chilean Sunset because it reminded me of fall leaves more than a sunset - but then again, I have never been to Chile.
I am afraid I won't have much time to stitch this week because I have company coming and therefore lots of cleaning to do - but knowing myself as I do - I bet I find time to get a few stitches in between vacuuming and mopping and such. A break now and then is needed, right?
