Winging the Bling
I finished another ornament! This one is for the March Ornament SAL from one of my Facebook groups. I ended up making the "O" up pretty much as I went along, so be sure to take a look at the original design at La Contesse & Le Point De Croix because it is much prettier than what I ended up with here - I just didn't want to frog the beads.
Kaleidoscope by Ink Circles was supposed to be next up in my rotation, but I was just not ready to work on it yet, so I pulled my Cricket Collection Mermaid out instead. This was a "gift design" from them from last year - they add new ones from time to time so be sure to check them out and if you are interested in this one, you might try contacting them to see if they ever offer previous freebies again or if they offer them for purchase.
I finished the Mermaid's tresses as shown here and now I have moved on the her very colorful tail. It is going to take me awhile to do it because of all the color changes, but it is going to be so pretty when done.
I am stitching this project with DMC flosses, Kreinik braid, and I will be adding some beads and maybe a charm before I am done. The fabric is a piece of blue linen I had in my stash. It is hard to get a photo that shows how pretty it is - pale blue and very delicate looking.
I am not sure if I will finish her before I move on to something else - it would be nice, but I kind of doubt it knowing my stitching attention span.
