How to Deal with Metallic Threads and Blending Filaments
In one of my Facebook groups Cross Stitch and Needlework, one of the members posted a vent about using metallic thread recently. One of the suggestions was to use Thread Heaven. Thread Heaven is a magic substance that makes your threads slide through fabric like greased lightening. Well, maybe it isn't magic, but it definitely helps with metallic flosses or any other floss that is giving you fits.
Another tip for using metallic threads or blending filaments is to loop your thread on the needle instead of threading it the traditional way.
Using shorter lengths of thread or floss than usual is helpful when dealing with these specialty flosses. Using a slightly larger needle also helps because it opens up the fabric just a bit more so there is less friction when you are drawing the floss through the fabric.
