AAN and Faby Reilly Finishes
I had two finishes in the past few days. I completed my AAN (Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks) design. It was from the Nov/Dec 2013 issue of Just CrossStitch magazine and called Christmas Ornament. I have written about this before, but I started the project on 40-count fabric but decided to swap it out for 32-count Belfast Linen which worked out much better for me. I stitched the design with Sulky cotton floss.
My other finish is called Wild Rose Square, designed by Faby Reilly for a SAL in a Facebook group I belong to. I thought this design was so lovely, but my word, it ended up being difficult for me to stitch for some reason. I particularly love the back stitch. It was challenging but it makes the project POP.
My next project will be the March fairy designed by Lucy Heaton and available for free at DMC UK. I am in a SAL group on Facebook for these designs and it is fun to see how other people are stitching them up. One of my friends is doing them on an afghan and they look particularly lovely on that fabric. I am doing mine on light blue Aida and plan to make them into small ornaments. Then I can display one each month. That will be cool.
