Finishes So Far
As of yesterday I have had three finishes so far this year - YAY! I am determined to have lots of WIP (work in progress) finishes this year but so far all my finishes have been from new starts. One wasn't even in my rotation, but it is for a gift (yes, I like to start early for Christmas) so I am not going to beat myself up for deviating a little from my rotation.
My first finish is show on the right here. It is the pumpkin from Prarie Schooler's Head's Up Leaflet. I hope to finish most of these this year - they will go on my Halloween tree.
The second finish, shown here in the middle, was for Lesley Teare's January Birthday Fairy. She presented a series of these fairies on her blog last year at Lesley Teare: Thoughts on Design. Lesley is very generous with freebies, but of course, her designs appear in many needlework magazines as well.
My third and most recent finish is the cute little owl shown first. It was a freebie from Holly's Hobbies called Festive Owl. I added some blending filament to give it some sparkle - alas, it doesn't show up in the photo. I also subbed beads for French knots. Not only do I have a plethora of beads in my stash, I also hate doing French knots on linen or evenweave.
What are you working on right now? Have you had any finishes yet this year? Head over to the Connie Gee's Stitchers Facebook group to show off your work. If you aren't already a member, put in a request to join and I will be happy to add you!
