I have not been getting much stitching done this week, nor have I been getting much of anything else productive done. My nephew is visiting from Utah and he is my focus so it is a happy, non-productive week. Since he lives in Utah, I don't get to spoil him very often, so when he comes to see us in Georgia my Mom and I compete to see who can cram the most spoiling into the time.
Yesterday my DH and I took him to visit with his Great-Grandfather Leon. My grandfather is in a wonderful nursing home and while he is in declining health, so far he always knows who we are and he was so delighted to see us, especially when he saw "his boy" walk in to the room.
Granddaddy, as we call him, and my nephew share a love of baseball so that was the main topic of conversation. They talked about playing baseball and watching Braves games. My nephew bemoaned the difficulty of being a Braves fan, not only because of their poor playing right now, but also because it is hard to watch the games out in Utah. Most of the time all he gets to see are the highlights.
The nephew will be here a few more days, so we have a few more activities planned, but since is it so hot and humid here in Georgia, we will probably spend a good bit of time doing as little as possible - it is too hot to do much more than sit around and visit and of course, I really enjoy that time we spend together.
There will be time for cleaning house and for stitching next week when I will be consoling myself after he leaves. For now, I will just enjoy this delightful distraction from my usual activites.
